Temporary Process Engineer in Training (EIT) - (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada)

The Process EIT will report to the Manager, Pilot Plant in the corporate Engineering, Technology & Capital group, as well as the Chief Metallurgical Engineer on site during assignments.

This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and is not available for remote work, and is expected to be a 6-month term.

What you will do:

  • While at site, the duties will be dictated by the site metallurgical department, and will include:
  • Monitoring the process in the Mill
  • Performing unit operation and circuit mass balances
  • Making recommendations and implementing changes to improve the process
  • Assist with supervisory duties for the Lab Technicians
  • Development of test plans for exploring potential process improvements
  • Participation in safety programs
  • Collaboration with other departments on processing projects
  • Project lead on metallurgical projects
  • Miscellaneous assignments as they arise due to need and priority
  • At Nutrien, permanent EIT candidates are assigned a site rotation, with each rotation lasting for 12-18-months before moving to a new site for the next rotation
  • The expectation for permanent rotational EIT position to last 2-5 years, at which time the EIT is expected to apply for full-time jobs outside of rotational program as they arise
  • This position is temporary, therefore will likely remain at one site for the duration of the 6-month term

  • Chemical Engineering Degree or equivalent education / experience in mineral processing
  • Knowledge of mass balancing and process simulation software will be considered an asset
