What Are We Looking For?
Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Supply Chain Management, the Supervisor Supply Chain Performance and Integration (Internal title: Supervisor PSCM Performance & Integration) is responsible for all procurement aspects of business planning, performance, compliance, controls, risk, and Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) management. This position will help establish, evolve, and mature the sourcing, procurement, vendor management, and contract/materials management processes and systems of FortisAlberta. The incumbent will be expected to create alignment and drive performance of the Procurement and Supply Chain team, and will interface extensively with both internal business units and external vendors.
The Supervisor Supply Chain Performance and Integration will be expected to lead, manage, coach, and motivate employees reporting to the position. This will include providing direction, expertise, and advice to employees, identifying training opportunities and requirements, and formally managing performance. The supervisor will work closely with Human Resources to manage all elements of employee relations, including hiring, terminations, training, performance appraisals for the employee file, administering progressive discipline, and resolving labour relations issues and/or grievances. The Supervisor Supply Chain Performance and Integration will manage a team of specialists in digital/ERP systems and processes, specifically in Procure-to-Pay (P2P0 and Master Data.
A critical responsibility of this position will be to provide value through the streamlining of procurement processes through the integration of automated systems while ensuring rigorous control and compliance. As a result, strong leadership capacity and the ability to communicate vision and business context to obtain “buy-in” from stakeholders are important attributes required to be successful in this role.
The Supervisor Supply Chain Performance and Integration will support the ongoing development of operating business plans through effective planning, organization, and continuous evaluation and improvement of supply chain processes. The position will also support other groups in the Procurement department by designing and tracking performance management tools such as key KPIs and ensuring category management, vendor management, contracting, and materials management areas are as efficient as possible. This will also include the evaluation and monitoring of risk to supply base, identifying opportunities to mitigate risk, and implement risk improvement initiatives.
As a key position in the Procurement team, this role will help develop and manage sustainability strategies, facilitate and manage governance processes, build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and hep ensure that FortisAlberta’s Procurement function achieves a top tier standard of excellence. Other special projects or duties may be assigned to this position as required.
What will you bring to the Role?
- Applied knowledge of procurement and contracts and Canadian procurement and contracts law.
- Proven track record, expertise, and passion for elevating the position of the Procurement and Supply Chain function within the business and wider community.
- Customer service focus with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships, confidentiality with team members and internal and external stakeholders; this includes excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage resources and diverse projects concurrently.
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail to design and ability to implement procurement processes, systems and plans with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
- Proven ability to lead and work within a team environment; this includes engaging cross-functional teams of internal and external participants and stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365; familiarity with Power BI and emerging data mining and reporting technologies would be an asset.
- Experience with modern sourcing, procurement, and accounting systems
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Degree or Diploma or related discipline plus a minimum of 7 years of related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- A recognized Supply Chain Management designation is required.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and contracts including financial, material services, contracts and purchasing functions is required.
Special Conditions:
- Valid Class 5 drivers permit
- Travel within Alberta with possible overnight stays is a requirement of this position.
