Join a team of forward thinking, enthusiastic, results-driven and collaborative professionals. To support our mission we are currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Vancouver.

The role will require but not be limited to:
To provide direction to project procurement personnel and to procure materials, equipment, services and coordinate vendors in accordance with company policies, procedures and systems to meet company goals in regards to quality, delivery and cost. This is an office based position in Vancouver with short term site visits required

Procurement Support
  • Assist in the production of all commercial documentation for the compilation and issue of all tender,
request for tender, and pricing documentation for all subcontracts.
  • Prepare tender documents, addendums and contracts including formatting in line with the Sedgman
style guide.
  • Preparation of Transmittals for outgoing Documentation.
  • Issue approved documentation to nominated suppliers.
  • Collation of information for tender evaluation.
  • Participate in the technical and commercial evaluation and recommendation of received tenders and
quotes and the award of subcontracts.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of all subcontracts in accordance with the terms and
  • Assist with the coordination and expediting of supply and subcontractor deliverables including
inspection and auditing.
  • Follow-up resolution of technical queries from subcontractors.
  • Assist in establishing project control channels of communication and information flow.
  • Monitor and report to the Manager Procurement, internally driven changes to the scope of works for all
contract packages within a project.
  • Monitor and report to the Manager Procurement, procurement activities progress and program and
implement corrective action as required.
  • Awareness of the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payments Act Ensure that Client
invoicing is submitted in a timely manner.
  • Ensure sub-contractor payments are processed in accordance with the contract conditions.

Procurement Strategy
  • Assist the Manager Procurement in the formulation, development and implementation of purchasing
strategies with the objective of meeting business requirements for the assurance of supply, quality,
service, cost, innovation and regulatory compliance.
  • Align procurement strategies with those for the client site/commercial business and relevant sourcing
  • Improve systems and processes to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness of service for company
and clients.
  • Implement procurement policies and procedures where required in conjunction with other departments
in the business e.g. Quality, Finance, Project Delivery.

Vendor Management
  • Source and evaluate vendors according to price, delivery conditions and quality of their
  • Manage relationships and ways of working with key vendors to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods/services that meet business requirements.
  • Implement all subcontracts in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 5 - 8 years’ experience in procurement in a projects / engineering environment.
  • Excellent communicator with strong consultation and influencing skills.

  • Well-developed analytical, research and evaluation skills including the ability to identify and implement

  • strategies for improved service delivery.
  • Sound planning, organisational and administrative skills with demonstrated effectiveness in developing

  • systems, processes and procedures to prioritise tasks and ensure achievement of goals and meet deadlines.
    Desired skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Commercial / Financial Understanding

  • Knowledge of project finance
