Seasonal Research Associate (Crop Development)

This is a seasonal role with some candidates beginning May 2024 - Aug 2024 and the others beginning March 2024 - Oct 2024.

What you will do:

• Seed cleaning, seed treatment and set-up of seeding envelopes.
• Operating small plot field equipment such as tractors, seeders, mowers and tillage tools.
• Driving a truck and trailer to move equipment between sites.
• Equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Small plot maintenance by using different agronomic practices.
• Taking notes and collecting agronomic data.
• Taking sub-samples in a small plot combine.
• Assisting technicians, agronomists and plant breeders with other duties as required
• Some travel may be required.

What you will bring:

• A valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Able to work outdoors.
• Small plot field trial experience and/or agricultural or farm experience is an asset but not required
• Mechanical aptitude with farm machinery is an asset but not required
