The Role

This is an entry level role in Marketing. Reporting to the Marketing lead, the Analyst will join our team to support the generation of new qualified leads, to ultimately help hit our revenue goals in 2023 and beyond. This role will provide critical support through a diversity of tasks, including events coordination, data analysis, marketing collateral and channel management support as well as software management and administration. This is an entry level position.

Valence’s Marketing team is in a highly experimental and iterative stage - this role will be critical to our ability to execute high value marketing initiatives and double down on channels that are working. This role will be integral to our ability to execute swift, seamless and high-impact marketing activities to learn faster and generate the results needed to be successful.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the planning and promotion of various marketing events across channels like webinars, conferences, roundtables.
  • Lead the execution and support the performance analysis of all marketing and sales events.
  • Support the creation and distribution of marketing materials, such as presentations, brochures, and case studies.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns, tracking their performance and reporting on key metrics.
  • Contribute to written communication effort and inbox management, including drafting and proofreading marketing collateral.
  • Manage and maintain marketing and sales software platforms, including CRM, email marketing, and analytics platforms. Experience with Hubspot and Salesforce is welcomed.
  • Assist in coordinating and monitoring digital marketing initiatives, such as social media campaigns and online advertising.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and organize data, ensuring accuracy and completeness for analysis purposes.
  • Assist in conducting market research, competitor analysis, and customer profiling to identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the marketing and sales teams.

  • Strong organizational abilities. Proven ability to keep the moving parts of many workstreams on track; natural attention to detail.
  • Communication skills.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adjust styles to the audience.
  • Analytical abilities.A comfort with Excel to organize information in a value added way. Experience with Hubspot, Salesforce is a plus.
  • Problem solving mindset.Ability to diagnose and breakdown a variety of problems to identify impactful solutions.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and resilient. Self-driven with a natural sense of urgency. Not easily deterred by roadblocks.
  • Emotional Intelligence (EQ).Exceptional self and social awareness to set the foundation for strong long-term relationships.

Location and Work Environment

This will be a hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area. There will be at least 2 days in office at 215 Spadina Avenue in Toronto. Candidates must be comfortable to travel and have the necessarily passport/authorization.
