This role requires full time on site presence.
Your role
As a Maintenance Technician, assigned by your supervisor or a technician from a higher group, you will perform duties associated with maintaining broadcasting and transmission systems/equipment, such as function-testing, configuring, installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and refurbishing, according to established standards, in a multidisciplinary environment that includes networking, electronics, and computer systems.
You will also be called upon to suggest installing new procedures, as well as executing a vast variety of tasks, while working with technologies ranging from analog and digital.
You will be required to work on a 24/7 shift on rotation with the other technicians on the team.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
  • College diploma (DCS) in electronics technology (audiovisual, telecommunications or computing systems option) or a relevant field
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience required, owing to the multidisciplinary environment
  • Solid background and experience with RF
  • Hands-on experience with telecommunications, broadcasting, transmission and satellite reception equipment
  • Certification in IP technology - related to new broadcast technology trends
  • Valid driver’s licence (you will be required to regularly operate snowmobiles)
  • Available to travel all over Canada, including Nunavik and Nunavut
  • Available to work a 24/7 schedule including days, evenings and nights, 7 days per week
  • Very good knowledge of French (both spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of English an asset
  • Knowledge of DEJERO/Live U systems (an asset)
  • Knowledge of satellite and microwave newsgathering trucks systems (an asset)
  • Knowledge of television and radio studio control systems (an asset)
  • Ability to work easily with production and field teams s (an asset)
  • Mechanical knowledge (an asset)
  • Candidates shall supply a copy of their diploma and transcript(s) or an Évaluation comparative des études effectuées hors Québec
Selected candidates will be tested as follows:
  • Theory test
  • Interview
