As an IT Support Specialist, you will be reporting to the IT manager. You will work with a team that provides industry-leading technology at the intersection of AI, computer vision, and computational imaging. We address mission-critical requirements for the automotive autonomous vehicle and robot, and surveillance markets that are moving at an incredible pace of innovation across the globe.

Your main responsibility will keep computing systems and peripherals running smoothly and efficiently. You must diagnose, repair, and maintain hardware and Linux software components for efficient system operation. You will be the first point of contact for IT support within the company and you will facilitate new employee integration. You will perform daily system routines and assist with other duties as assigned.
As an IT Support Specialist, you will interact with employees from all departments and levels, some without advanced technology skills, and you must be able to communicate patiently and effectively.

Key responsibilities:

• Installing and configuring hardware and Linux software components
• Setup / Troubleshoot / Upgrade desktop and laptop computers.
• Repairing or replacing damaged hardware
• Triaging and responding to requests from users
• Maintain procedures and tasks documentation
• Maintain inventory
• This is a 90% Linux related task job
• Full-time presence on the Algolux premises.

Requirements:

• Experienced in Linux, ideally Ubuntu
• College diploma in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and 3 years of experience in a technical support role.
• Very good knowledge of Linux/Ubuntu administration is required to achieve your tasks.
• Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written) are mandatory to support Algolux team members around the world.
• Experience troubleshooting software, hardware and basic network problems.
• Experience with monitoring platforms, e.g. Zabbix, Kibana, etc
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
• On rare occasions, the ability to participate in tasks occurring after hours and weekend support.
• Experience in Windows Active Directory infrastructure

Desirable:

• Experience with virtualization and containerization
• Experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible (or similarly Chef, Puppet, or Salt)
• Experience with Python
• Experience in Google suites, Office 365
• Experience in MacOS system administration

En tant que technicien informatique, vous serez sous la responsabilité du directeur informatique. Votre principale responsabilité sera de veiller au bon fonctionnement des systèmes informatiques et des périphériques. Vous devrez diagnostiquer, réparer et entretenir les composants matériels et logiciels Linux pour un fonctionnement efficace des systèmes. Vous serez le premier point de contact pour le soutien informatique au sein de l’entreprise et vous faciliterez l’intégration des nouveaux employés. Vous effectuerez les tâches quotidiennes du système et participerez à d’autres tâches qui vous seront confiées.
En tant que technicien informatique, vous interagissez avec des employés de tous les services et de tous les niveaux, dont certains n’ont pas de compétences technologiques avancées, et vous devrez être capable de communiquer patiemment et efficacement.

Principales responsabilités :

• Installer et configurer le matériel et les composants logiciels Linux.
• Configurer / dépanner / mettre à niveau des ordinateurs de bureau et des ordinateurs portables.
• Réparer ou remplacer le matériel endommagé
• Triage et réponse aux demandes des utilisateurs
• Maintenir la documentation des procédures et des tâches
• Maintenir l’inventaire.
• Il s’agit d’un travail à 90% lié à Linux
• Présence à temps plein dans les locaux d’Algolux.

Exigences:

• Expérience avec le système d’exploitation Linux, idéalement Ubuntu
• Diplôme collégial dans un domaine connexe ou une combinaison équivalente d’études et de 3 ans d’expérience dans un rôle de soutien technique.
• Une très bonne connaissance de l’administration de Linux/Ubuntu est nécessaire pour accomplir vos tâches.
• Le bilinguisme - français et anglais (parlé et écrit) est obligatoire pour soutenir les membres de l’équipe Algolux dans le monde entier.
• Expérience dans le dépannage de problèmes de logiciels, de matériel et de réseaux de base.
• Expérience avec les plateformes de surveillance, par exemple Zabbix, Kibana, etc.
• Doit être capable de soulever jusqu’à 40 livres.
• En de rares occasions, capacité à participer à des tâches se produisant après les heures de travail et le soutien de fin de semaine.
• Expérience de l’infrastructure Windows Active Directory
