IT Manager
Consentia Inc. provides document and data management services which include data entry, transcription services, imaging, and document management software solutions. We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to support our IT Team and partner with our Operations to help us deliver outstanding results to our clients. This permanent full-time position is based at the Consentia Inc. office in downtown Edmonton, Alberta.
Key Focuses of the Role:
Responsible for the overseeing computer-related activities for Consentia, including coordinating and planning. Lead and mentor and delvelop members on the IT Team. Work with Senior Management to identify the IT needs and be responsible for implementing computer systems to fulfill the organization’s information systems requirements. The role includes:
1. Overseeing technical projects in alignment with organizational goals
2. Directing the effective delivery of networks, development, and disaster recovery
systems and processes
3. Developing partnerships with vendors, software developers and service providers to
find solutions to manage business activities
4. Implementing information technology strategies by managing staff; overseeing and
ensuring that computer systems and equipment are operating effectively
5. Establishing standards and providing recommendations for improvement of IT
infrastructure
6. Facilitating IT security audits or investigations.
7. Ensuring smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems
performance
8. Preparing and presenting proposals for capital projects as a member
of senior team
9. Consulting senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business
and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology
10. Identifying system and hosting upgrades with clients
Our IT Team is a small powerhouse, so the individual would also enjoy getting involved in all the day to day activities as a member of the IT team.
Some of these duties may include:
- Maintenance/support of network infrastructure (Switches, Routers, Firewall, etc.)
- Maintenance/support of workstation infrastructure (desktops, peripherals, printers, etc.)
- Maintenance/support of storage administration (Backups, SAN, NAS, etc.)
- Creation and update of infrastructure documentation
- Software and hardware configuration to meet business and functional requirements
- Provide application support
- Perform problem solving activities and propose solution options
- Willing to work overtime or alternate hours when required
- Other miscellaneous duties as requested
Mandatory Skills and Qualifications:
- 6+ Years’ Experience in an enterprise environment
- IT related diploma or degree
- Experience with network infrastructure (MS Azure, VPN, routers, storage and back up, etc.)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Experience with Windows Server 2012 R2 to 2019
- Strong knowledge with network protocols
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
- Effective communication skills, including excellent writing/documentation
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to develop solutions that match business requirements
- Ability to provide accurate estimates and meet timelines
- Time management and organization skills
- Strong customer service orientation and attention to details
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities
Additional Nice to Have Skills/Experience:
- Content management experience (SharePoint, Documentum, Alfresco, or similar)
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Understanding of Project Development Life Cycle
- Certification: CompTIA A+, Microsoft, VMware, AWS
- Experience with server blade infrastructure
- Familiarity with Dell servers and devices

This highly skilled individual will be a quick learner, and able to lead a team as well as collaborate with senior leadership. Exposure to the imaging industry would be considered a significant asset.
