Corporate / Wills & Estates Legal Assistant – One-year maternity leave contract

Low Murchison Radnoff LLP, a mid-sized law firm, is looking to add an intermediate level legal assistant or law clerk with corporate, wills and estates experience to our team.

Duties include:

· File Management - opening, maintaining all file records in electronic form in relevant databases, keep file lists and status of files up-to-date, billing, paying invoices, and closing of files;

· Time Management – Managing multiple calendars, ensuring all dates and reminders are entered and are BF; flag priorities, schedule meetings, document actions and meet deadlines;

· Communications/Documentation– draft, revise and review various correspondence, documents, authorizations, notes and reports, liaise with clients, counsel, and court officials;

· Other duties as required.

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a lawyer’s office.

· Real Estate experience would be an asset.

· Legal assistant/Law Clerk diploma/certificate;

· A combination of education, training and experience will also be considered;

· "Must have" advanced skills in Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, Outlook, AdobePro with excellent keyboarding and grammar skills;

· Must be able to manage multiple priorities and work as part of a team environment, be well organized, pay strict attention to detail, and be comfortable working with electronic documents;

· Knowledge of FastCompany, E-core, Estate-A-Base, GhostPractice;

· Excellent command of the English language is essential, and bilingualism would be a strong asset;

· Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. You may be asked to provided proof of eligibility at the time an offer is made; and

· Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
