Do you want to be part of a winning team? Our fast-growing company is currently looking to hire a HSE Field Coordinator to join our team in Grande Prairie. This position is full time and will report to the HSE Manager. He/she will be responsible for delivering CDN’s integrated Occupational, health, Safety, and Environmental Program at worksites and field services divisions.

  • Facilitating worksite safety meetings, training drills, and conducting worksite HSE observations, audits, and inspections
  • Assisting HSE Manager will incident investigations and reporting
  • Transferring HSE field level documentation between site crews, head office operations, and various regional branches
  • Assisting HSE Manager with the annual internal maintenance audits at worksite locations
  • Ensuring all supervisors/foremen receive current and updated electronic and hard copy data for distribution to the work sites
  • Ensuring that legislation, GHS Safety Data Sheets are kept up to date at the worksites for all divisions
  • Providing guidance to employees and contractors with HSE procedures and inform them of new legislation and OHS regulations
  • Provide worksite specific orientations as required for client representatives, sub-contractors, visitors, and industry representatives attending the worksites
  • Providing site representation to projects requiring additional monitoring for critical high hazard or environmentally sensitive worksites
  • Establish site-specific safety and environmental plans, confined space entry permits and plans, with third-party contractors, as required.
  • Assisting with monthly crew tool and equipment inventory checks and safety equipment inventory
  • Performing safety equipment checks and replenishing supplies as needed for: first aid kits, spill kits, fire extinguishers, and fire protection equipment
  • Attend operations meetings to ensure upcoming project safety and environmental requirements are in place
  • Assisting with quarterly training schedules for all divisions and crews
  • Performing regular worksite field HSE observations and verifications with crews, PPE, HSE documentation, tools and equipment, daily and weekly equipment checks, safety equipment, hazard assessments, scope of work and hazard controls prioritized accordingly to OHS legislation standards
  • Verifying trade competency performance assessments with Supervisors/Foremen
  • Ensuring Emergency Response Plans are coordinated, reviewed, and documented to completion
  • Researching OHS regulations, client directive, client construction standards and procedures, and industry best practices to ensure employees will be provided with a safety & environmental management system that provides quality assurance and compliance in all divisions and operation areas
  • Supporting the return to work program and process, if required
  • Ensuring that HSE Management & Project Management are kept informed of HSE issues in a timely manner
  • Assisting with the development of protocols for field HSE audits
  • Supporting field staff with safe operations that meet regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of safe working practices and procedures
  • Act in accordance with Health & Safety Legislation and Practices and CDN Controls Ltd.’s safety policies and practices
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate initiative when working along
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize projects and daily tasks
  • Minimum two years HSE Coordinator experience
  • NCSO
  • Valid H2S, First Aid Level C- CPR & AED, CSTS, and CSO
